This is simply a very delicious wine! On the nose it’s floral with aromas of red cherry, cranberry and red plum. On the palate there’s well integrated tannins, refreshing acidity with flavours of cherry, cranberry, red currant and a hint of salty mineral notes. Medium bodied with a lovely finish. Would go well with game, roast vegetable and pizza (but with Chorizo not Salami to stay true to it’s Spanish roots).

THE VINEYARD

Gre2 is a collaboration between Les Caves de Pyrene and Ricardo Feech who heads up the small, quality minded co-operative Cristo del Humilladero. The idea behind this and other projects is to create excellent value wines, from organically-farmed grapes and as naturally as possible, wines that faithfully reflect the place they come from.

120 growers work some of the best Garnacha vineyards in the region to provide the grapes for this wine. The winery, built from granite, dates from 1956. Its high vaulted ceilings and numerous 9000 litre cement tanks provide a great location for the traditional vinification of Garnacha.
