This wine is a fantastic blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris, Semillion and Chenin Blanc with floral aromatics of honeysuckle, wisteria yellow fruits and citrus. On the palate it has a refreshing acidity, reminding one of grapefruits and citrus flavours. The Bergerac Blanc Sec is a fantastic union between freshness, fullness and aromas.
The winery is a 40 hectare vineyard that has been fully organic since 2013 and is currently run by the 8th generation of the original Vignerons, the Alexis family. The grapes are directly pressed followed by 4 months of fermentation with indigenous yeasts to enhance the terroir characteristics. Temperatures are kept cool at 14-16°C during fermentation to preserve the aromatics. Matured in tanks on fine lees for further flavour development it is bottled without filtration though it presents with out settlement of cloudiness.
