New Wines for a New Year

We have a few arrivals for the new year that we’re quite excited to share with you!
This 100% Garnacha is simply a very delicious wine! On the nose it’s floral with aromas of red cherry, cranberry and red plum. On the palate there’s well integrated tannins, refreshing acidity with flavours of cherry, cranberry, red currant and a hint of salty mineral notes. Medium bodied with a lovely finish. Would go well with game, roast vegetable and pizza (but with Chorizo not Salami to stay true to it’s Spanish roots).

100% Aglianico, one of the most important grapes in Southern Italy. Ruby red in colour with light garnet reflections. On the nose and palate the wine has an intense bouquet revealing ample amounts of mature black fruit. The wine is soft and velvety on the palate and full-bodied, with balanced tannins and hints of almond in the lingering finish.

We’re really excited to add this red Bandol from Provence to the range for several reasons! First- Red Bandol’s are increasingly hard to find. There’s a been a significant drop in cultivated acres (approximately -55%) in the past 20 years. Second- this one’s organic, again really hard to find! Third- it’s simply a wonderful wine to acquaint yourself with. The Domaine was recently profiled in Forbes magazine. It’s a quick read and well worth your time to know more about this producer. Here’s the link:

The wine itself is concentrated and wildly aromatic with black fruit, spices, pepper, sandalwood, coffee and leather. Fresh acidity and structured tannins.
